FRIDAY 30th JANUARY 2026 NIGEL PRICE (guitar)

London-based guitarist Nigel Price has long been on a fixture on the UK scene but his roots began in reggae and funk bands. But it was the three years he spent with the James Taylor Quartet that established his reputation. His early influences, Wes Montgomery, Grant Green and Joe Pass shine through in his elegant, rhythmically sophisticated playing. Competing with Derek Nash for the title “the hardest-working musician in the UK”, Nigel tours regularly with his Organ Trio, with a quartet that features saxophonist Vasilis Xenopolous and as a guest in many formats.
Of the album “Heads and Tales” Dave Gelly in The Observer praises the “inventiveness, originality and ensemble playing…”
Nigel Price will be accompanied by the Andy Urquhart Quartet
