Being the proud owner of a saxophone once owned by Hank Mobley and Ronnie Scott, Art Themen can justifiably be described as the elder statesman of British jazz. Since the sixties R&B boom Art has been at the forefront of the UK jazz scene. His influences range from Coleman Hawkins to Dexter Gordon, but his tone and style are unique. Having retired as an orthopaedic surgeon, Art devotes his time to performing and he continues to explore and entertain.
