ZOOT MONEY and the BIG ROLL BAND

ZOOT MONEY and the BIG ROLL BAND

17/07/2020

7:00 pm - 11:30 pm

George “Zoot” Money’s birthday celebrations at the Jazz Café have become a fixture on our calendar. To call Bournemouth-born Zoot a seasoned pro would be an understatement. Graduating from Bournemouth’s Downstairs Club in 1961, Zoot Money and his Big Roll Band went on to perform at London’s Flamingo Club. He also collaborated with Eric Burdon, Steve Marriot, Peter Green (Fleetwood Mac) and Andy Summers (later of The Police).  A born entertainer, Zoot Money has also acted on the small and big screen. He continues to perform, with the Big Roll Band and as a collaborator with Alan Price, Ruby Turner and Geno Washington.

If you’re a fan of tightly arranged, hard driving rhythm and blues and you appreciate his witty, sometimes off-colour anecdotes, this is the night for you.
