FRIDAY NIGHT SERIES JAZZ: TINA MAY (vocals) with THE ANDY URQUHART QUARTET

After a very long enforced lay-off we are delighted to be able to reinstate our Friday Series jazz nights featuring some of the leading lights of the British jazz scene ably supported by the Andy Urquhart Quartet.

Our first special guest is a perennial favourite at the Jazz Cafe and is highly regarded across the UK and throughout Europe. Tina May is one of those vocalists that are tagged “a musician’s singer” mainly because she thrives in the company of good players. She is adept at both scat singing and vocalese and due to a background in acting she has  the stagecraft and warmth that can charm any audience.
