Now one of Europe’s most progressive performers in improvised music and an ECM recording artist, Iain Ballamy is a graduate of Bill Bruford’s Earthworks and the Loose Tubes orchestra in the late 80s/early 90s. He performs with folk legend June Tabor in Quercus, with Thomas Stronen in the electronica duo Food and with his acoustic quartet Little Anorak.
“Intensly melodic, eventful and full of surprises… The beauty of tone that Iain Ballamy gets is certainly one of the joys of the current scene, and his concern with creating it echoes Stan Getz’s.”
